Jaguar vehicles are long been known for their elegant British style and sporty performance and handling. Although long associated with British luxury, the Jaguar brand was bought out by the Ford Company in 1990. Ford’s influence became evident around 1997 when Jaguar unveiled its XK8 and XKR supercharged sports cars. Soon after, Jaguar introduced the slightly for affordable X-type, to try to broaden their customer base, but it wasn’t received well and was subsequently discontinued. Just recently, the Jaguar Company was sold by Ford, along with Land Rover, to Tata, an Indian manufacturer. The future of Jaguar and Land Rover are uncertain at this point.
