Founded in 1988, Eagle was a short-lived marque of the Chrysler Corporation. The name was derived from the AMC Eagle, the last vehicle designed in entirety in the United States by American Motors. After American Motors was bought out by the Chrysler Corporation in 1987, the Jeep/Eagle division was formed. The most successful Eagle vehicles were the Eagle Vision sedan and the Talon coupe. The Eagle Talon, a vehicle that paralleled the Mitsubishi Eclipse, sold in excess of 115,000 units. Despite the substantial success of the Talon, the Eagle brand was officially dissolved in 1998.
